The 1980 British 'Rendlesham forest incident' remains one of the top alleged UFO events of our time.

Background: The sighting of unusual lights in a nearby forest, first assumed to be an aircraft crash, led security guards posted at RAF Woodbridge 'East Gate' to venture off-base and investigate.
Their story and the return of the mysterious lights, has become known as the Rendlesham forest incident.
Halt Memorandum: Donald Moreland, the British Liaison Officer, pressured Lt. Col. Halt to report the Rendlesham Forest Incident to the British Ministry of Defense. Charles Halt typed a memorandum from memory and sent it to the MOD with a covering letter from Donald Moreland (January 13th 1981).

Halt Tape: An audio recording said to be captured by Lt. Col. Halt on his pocket recorder is commonly known as the Halt Tape. The Halt Tape was reportedly duplicated (an internal affair) and eventually found its way onto the internet. Two qualities of the recording can be found online. The title 'Halt Tape' is generally accepted without question.
2011. BBC Reports MISSING FILES:
The missing files relate to a report of mysterious lights from US servicemen at RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk in 1980. The disappearance came to light with the release of 8,000 previously classified documents on UFOs. Officials found a 'huge' gap where defence intelligence files relating to the case should be, the papers show.
